In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a program was created to support Black women entrepreneurs from underserved communities in Salvador, Brazil—many of whom were deeply impacted by the economic crisis and urgently needed to adapt their businesses to the digital environment.
The initiative offered a series of five free online workshops, delivered through YouTube, designed to provide practical tools and accessible knowledge on how to transition to the digital space. The program focused on strengthening entrepreneurial skills, expanding digital presence, and enabling participants to sustain and grow their businesses during a time of uncertainty.
More than a training series, this program was a response to systemic inequalities intensified by the pandemic. It centered on empowerment, access, and inclusion—ensuring that these women were not left behind in the shift toward a more digital economy.
By combining digital education with a community-centered approach, the program contributed to building resilience, autonomy, and new economic opportunities for Black women entrepreneurs in Salvador.
